Siberian cat

The Siberian cat in its appearance has some similarities with the Norwegian forest cat. However, the Siberian cat is more massive. Among the differences, one can distinguish a lower torso of a Siberian cat and a wider head.
Siberian cat is in good health. This trait was fixed due to the natural origin of this breed and as a result of selection work. Siberian cat is a strong and muscular animal, mainly large and medium sized. Cats are larger than cats. An adult cat grows up to 6–10 kg, a cat - up to 4–6 kg. The body of the Siberian cat is quite strong, of medium length, with well-developed muscles. The limbs of the animal are not very long, but very strong. The paws of a Siberian cat are large and round, wool grows between the fingers.

Tabby - wool pattern with a certain combination of light and dark tones on each wool. There are different types of patterns: marble or classic, brindle or mackerel, spotted, tikit-tabby.

The hair of cats of this breed reaches medium length. The integumentary hair is a little hard, shiny, water repellent. On the sides, the coat is softer, looser, and very dense. The undercoat is double; its density depends on the season. Decorating wool is long, but dense, resembles a mane. Siberian cats have magnificent “panties”.
The tail is distinguished by its length, it is wide at the base and tapers evenly to the tip. The tail of a Siberian cat is fluffy.
The head is relatively large, slightly convex, slightly resembling a trapezoid in shape. The upper part of the head is flat. A low forehead smoothly passes to a wide straight back of the nose. The nose of a Siberian cat is medium length, without snub-nosed. The cheekbones and chin smoothly form a rounded line. The chin is quite wide and strong, but not protruding. The neck is usually short. Mustache and eyebrows are long.
The ears are medium in size, at the base they are slightly wide. The outer edge of the base of the ear is located just above eye level. Ears are slightly inclined forward, tips are rounded. Tassels are desirable on the ears.
Eyes of medium size, rounded. They are slightly slanted and widely spaced. Eye color evenly stained, can be all shades of green or yellow. Color points and white cats have blue eyes. With a white color, disagreement is observed.

In cats of color point color, the coat on the body has a fairly light tone, the muzzle has a dark mask, the ears, paws and tail are also dark.

The colors of Siberian cats are allowed everything except chocolate, lilac, Burmese, Abyssinian and their point variants. Color-point and color-point cats with white can also be called “Neva Masquerade”. Examination is carried out separately for colors.
By condition, a Siberian cat should be healthy, strong and well-groomed.

The disadvantages of Siberian cats include:
- direct profile, compliance with the "Persian" type,
- a long and narrow head,
- flat cheeks, high cheekbones and a weak chin,
- small, round and deep set eyes,
- large or narrowly set ears, straight or high set, ears of the "Persian" type (small, low set, excessively pubescent),
- a short or excessively stretched body (graceful type),
- weak skeleton,
- small paws,
- too long neck
- a short, poorly pubescent and sharp tail,
- wool without undercoat, too coarse or “downy”, dull on the back and croup.

Cats of the Siberian breed with pronounced signs of the “Persian” type are disqualified at exhibitions. Crossing with other breeds is not allowed.

The history of the Siberian breed of cats

There are no special legends and secrets in the origin of the Siberian cat. The native Russian fluffy cat inspired in 1980 Russian felinologists to breed cat breeds registered by clubs as Siberian. These were often semi-long-haired creatures, which became tribal material.

At first, beauties remained popular only within Russia, but history puts everything in its place, and the beauty and livable nature of the Siberian cat interested foreign lovers of mewing creatures. Soon, wonderful cats began to be exported to other countries and pussies saw the Czech Republic, USA, Germany. There were difficulties: not everyone was satisfied with the blurry description of cats.

By 1991, the international standard of the new breed was approved, which remained popular only within Russia. Work on clarifying the difference between Siberians and other thoroughbred cats continued. The last approved standard was adopted in 1994, and it is still relevant today. Changes in the description affected the shape of the head and the description of the unique water-repellent three-layer hair of these cats.

General description of the Siberian cat.

Siberian cat refers to the native Russian forest cats. First mentioned in historical documents in the XI century. The breed was formed adapted to life in the harsh conditions of Siberia. The Siberian cat has a torso from medium to medium-large, it seems surprisingly heavy for its size, the body is covered with strong triple hair. It makes an overall impression of a strong and determined cat. Has a nice facial expression. Cats of the Siberian breed grow up for a very long time - up to five years. Cats are noticeably smaller than cats, this should be taken into account when evaluating. Size is less important than type. The general appearance of the body should give the impression of roundness and smooth transitions, rather than angularity and flat surfaces.

Head shape: medium / large, slightly wedge-shaped, with rounded contours, in good proportion to the body. The head, rounded at the top of the skull, tapers slightly to the bottom, with rounded cheekbones. Mid-cheekbones should not be high or low. The skull stands out slightly between the ears, the forehead is almost flat. In cats, the jaws are well developed, in cats they have a more familiar look.

Ears: medium length, roundish, wide at the base, with a slight forward slope and the widest fit. The hair on the back of the ear is short and thin. From the middle of the ear, the hair becomes longer, hiding the base of the ear. At the tips of the ears, brushes are allowed.

Eyes: medium to large, almost round. The outer corners are slightly inclined to the bases of the ears. The distance between the eyes is not less than the size of the eye. The eyes are well opened, the look is attentive and expressive. Eye color does not depend on coat color, with the exception of color points with blue eyes.

The chin: well rounded, but not protruding, located not in one line with the nose.

Cheekbones: moderately short, full and rounded. There is a slight soft and smooth transition between the head and cheekbones.

Profile: the upper part of the head is almost flat, when viewed from the side, a slight bend from the forehead to the nose with a recess on the tip is noticeable.

Neck: rounded, strong, with well-developed muscles.

Torso: medium length with well-developed muscles, round and strong - gives the impression of a solid weight. The back is slightly higher than the front shoulders. Let's say a small belly.

Paws: middle length. The paws should have a massive skeleton, the hind legs are slightly longer than the front.

Feet: large, rounded, preferably pubescent.

Tail: medium length, slightly shorter than body length. The tail should be with a wide base, slightly tapering to a blunt tip, without thickenings and kinks, evenly and densely covered with wool.

Musculature: strong, powerful.

The coat of a Siberian cat.

Length: moderately long to long, triple. The hair on the shoulder blades and in the lower part of the chest should be thick and slightly shorter than in the rest of the body. Adult cats should have a thick furry collar around their throats. In the warm season, molting is acceptable. On the hind legs and stomach, the hair may slightly curl, although, in general, this is not typical for the Siberian breed.

Texture: for different colors it can be from hard to soft. In adult cats, there is a thick undercoat, especially noticeable in the cold season.

Color and pattern: All colors and their combinations are acceptable, both with white and without white. White is acceptable in any quantity and in any places. The presence or absence of white is acceptable on the chin, chest and abdomen. Buttons, spots and medallions are acceptable. Vivid colors and clear patterns are desirable. Fading silver colors is not considered a disadvantage.

Breed characteristics

Having become a novelty in the USA, this breed has long been known not only in its native Asian continent, but also in Europe. Initially, cats were brought to Russia by the nobility, which created them the glory of exotic pets. The mating of domestic cats with wild relatives living in the territories of European and Asian countries created the necessary prerequisites for the emergence of a new breed. Presumably a Siberian cat appeared in Siberia with Russian immigrants, having survived in the inexorable conditions of the region and developed into a long-haired, hardy breed. Such a difficult pedigree unequivocally states: the Siberian cat is a naturally formed breed with its own characteristics, standard and history. Recognized as the national cat of Russia, it is found on canvases of Russian painting, whose age is more than one hundred years old, and has long been kept at monasteries, later spreading throughout Europe.

Evaluation of the breed is carried out according to a whole list of parameters - level of activity, attachment to the owner, intelligence, playfulness, health and endurance, compatibility with children and pets, and many other criteria, including vocalism and need for attention.

Breed traits

Having, perhaps, one of the largest sizes among other breeds, a Siberian cat has an impressive weight of up to 8 kg, and a cat even more, reaching 11-12 kilograms. Fully consistent with the name and origin of the breed, the Siberian cat has a long thick coat with a double undercoat, which becomes even thicker in cold weather. The coat is strikingly waterproof, and the hair on the lower chest and shoulder blades is slightly shortened. Ripening very slowly, a Siberian cat reaches full maturity only by the age of five.

Breed standard

The general characteristic is as follows: the appearance of the Siberian cat should clearly indicate excellent physical condition, strength and stress-resistant temperament.

According to the rules of the International Cat Association, the breed standard does not allow crossbreeding with other breeds and describes Siberian cats as follows.

The wedge-shaped head has a medium or large size, rounded contours and is proportional to the body. Slightly wider from above, it narrows to a rounded muzzle and has medium-sized rounded ears, slightly inclined forward. The distance between them is equal to the width of the ears. It is advisable that there be brushes on their tips.

The well-rounded chin of the short and full face of the Siberian cat does not protrude, and the profile of the upper part of the head is almost even and has a slight curvature only at the nose. The neck, like the rest of the parts, is rounded and has well-developed muscles. The color of the large, almost round eyes with which the cat of the Siberian breed stands out is not connected in any way with the coat color and usually happens in any shade of green, gold, copper or green gold. A white cat (as with the presence of white in color) may have blue eyes.

With a muscular body of medium length and a barrel-shaped hard stomach, the Siberian cat looks quite heavy, and with age this weight really manifests itself. Legs of medium length typical for the breed have large and rounded legs with noticeable tufts of wool located between the toes. The standard requires that a medium-length tail, wide at the base and ending with a tapering blunt tip, be shorter than body length. Since the description of the breed says that the Siberian cat should have a rounded body and its parts, the narrow muzzle, almond-shaped eyes, too thin skeleton, not muscular, too elongated body, tail or limbs are considered to be shortcomings.

Since the Siberian cat belongs to a semi-long-haired breed, it has medium or long hair with a mandatory double undercoat. Its texture can vary depending on color and varies from coarse to soft, and thicker and shorter hair are characteristic for the cover of the shoulder blades and lower chest. The standard allows for any traditional coat color, including all combinations. The color of the nose and paw pads - any, including colors or combinations thereof, not associated with coat color.

The American breed standard allows all colors and patterns, with the exception of color point. But the standard is different, and other standards (WCF, FIFe, ICEF) allow exotic colors and their combination with eye color, unacceptable for other breeds. Examples are golden tabby color point, creamy silver color point with a part of white, black smoke with a spot of white and green eyes, and a special, purely Russian cat - Nevsky masquerade.

Allowing any amount of white (medallion, chest, buttons, spots, abdomen, paws), the standard excludes cinnamon, fawn, chocolate, lilac, Burmese and Abyssinian colors and their point variants.

Description of Siberian cats

Siberian cat rightfully bears the title of Russian beauty. She looks presentably presentable due to her well-developed large body with powerful legs. Between the fingers of the Siberian Siberian small tufts of wool grow.

The head is large and seems to be a trapezoid with rounded corners. According to the breed standard, the distance between the ears should correspond to the width of the ears. At the tips of the ears are brushes that give the face a resemblance to a trot.

Characterization of the muzzle requires harmony with the body, therefore, no sharpening is allowed. The back of the head should be flat. By the shape of the head, it is not difficult to distinguish a true Siberian from another similar breed. In addition, a smooth transition from nose to forehead is noticeable, and the Persian can no longer be passed off for this breed.

The description of the standard indicates large and round eyes with an expressive look.

Around a powerful strong neck a unique wool caftan is formed. Impressive shoulders exceed body width. The body itself is superbly developed. Such power is considered a feature of the breed - any cat will be an excellent rat-catcher and can compete in force with some dogs.

The tail of cats is very fluffy and wide, but moderately long.

Sign of thoroughbred Siberian cats is a thick fairly stiff coat. You can recognize these long-haired cats by looking at their fur coat: since it consists of two layers of undercoat and has rigidity, it is not wet. The hind limbs are dressed in thick warm “panties”.

Those who decide to have a small or adult Siberian can be calm about the appearance of an allergy - the breed, despite the long coat, is defined as hypoallergenic.

The combined color of the cat is ideal for the wild conditions of Siberia. The color is noticeable from the first month of life and can be patterned or solid, a variety of colors is allowed, including black and white colors.

Dimensions and weight of Siberian cats

Since these are cats with a heavy massive skeleton, despite their average size and dimensions, their not-so-light weight cannot be small. The growth of an adult animal at the withers reaches 30 cm, if it is a female, and 40 cm in a male.

The kitten gains weight from month to month, as a rule, well, and nevertheless, the cat grows for a long time: the formation of all body parameters, weight and length are completed by the age of three or even five years.

When buying a cat from Siberia, you should ask how much it will weigh: the males have a large weight of 6-8 kg, females are lighter. Their weight does not exceed 5 kg.

The habits and character of Siamese cats

For breeding breeds, cats were once taken from natural harsh conditions, and this affects the character and habits of many generations of cats. This is an active and brave hunter who will become a thunderstorm for all rodents, and even neighboring rabbits, in the house and in the district. The pet with enthusiasm will bring in the teeth and prey, and some thing.

Judging by the reviews of satisfied owners, the Siberian cat has fearlessness, likes to protect its territory from uninvited guests in the form of strangers and alien animals. Fear of dogs is also unknown to them. The darling of the family is not afraid of sharp sounds. You can be calm, for no good reason the cat will not get into trouble - the nature of the animal requires you to first check whether everything is safe.

The intelligence of the breed allows you to start not only the upbringing, but also the training of the pet in early childhood. There will be no problems with obedience and toilet training.

Raising this furry animal is a real pleasure. They are not picky, willingly enter the game with any proposed item. Similar characteristics are to the liking of families with children.

The description of the nature of the four-legged roommate also includes the words "restrained, affectionate, attentive." Friendship with animals is possible only in case of mutual respect for each other’s personal space, so if a pet climbed high up to the ceiling, let him sit there as much as his cat’s soul wants.

Feeding and caring for Siberian kittens

Surprisingly, such a thick coat does not require endless care of the breed. The grooming process includes combing for the molting period, otherwise 1-2 times a month will be more than enough.

The animal’s ears and eyes are cleaned once a week with damp, clean cloths or napkins. Claws need to be trimmed 1-2 mm as they grow 2 times a month.

The correct maintenance of a Siberian cat suggests that you sometimes need to let it out on the street.

Siberian kitten feeding must be carried out in strict accordance with the nutrition plan developed by veterinarians. The genetic program of the breed involves a natural and varied diet, which the owner must take care of.

Important in the diet - the feed should contain a large amount of protein, especially during the growth period of kittens. Enhanced protein nutrition is relevant for the first three years, during this period you need to feed the cat so that the protein in the diet is about 70%. After that, the protein level is reduced to 50%.

Siberian Health

Like a true Siberian, a cat pleases its owner with its excellent health. Only the owner is capable of damaging this natural quality with his careless actions and illiterate care. For example, it is enough not to do all vaccinations on time according to the vaccination schedule, and once a healthy Siberian cat can catch a serious illness. Even if the cat does not have a walk, it does not mean that at home he lives completely safe from all diseases.

When it is time for puberty, and this is about 7-9 months, you need to decide whether to mate in the future, because it may be worth castrating or sterilizing an animal from which offspring are not planned. If the binding has nevertheless taken place, then pregnancy sets in, lasting 63-69 days.

Siberian cats live 10-15 years.

Buy Siberian kitten

Why Siberian cat has become so popular in Russia and in other countries of the world is understandable: external data attracts the attention of many admirers of cats with long hair.

Nurseries, where you can get a breed Siberian Siberian enough not to acquire a cat of origin of dubious quality. If you take a kitten from your hands, there is a high probability that he will not grow into a proud Siberian, but at best, into a Norwegian forest one, if he is lucky.

In the nurseries of Siberian cats they offer to pre-book a kitten of the appropriate class. On average, the cost of the Siberian breed is not particularly high by the standards of the cat market. Kotofeev is acquired at the age of 2.5-3 months, vaccinated and healthy, with the pedigree indicated in the metrics. Buying an inexpensive pet from the hands of presumably this breed is fraught with the absence of any documents at all.

The price of Siberian cats starts at the threshold in 5 000 rubles and depends on the exterior of the animal and the characteristics of its pedigree.

What to call a Siberian kitten

Choosing a name for a new family friend is sometimes difficult. Giving a kitten a nickname, people should understand that not only they should like it, but also be suitable for the beast, its external data, habits. Most importantly, the Siberian cat should easily perceive its name, and, therefore, should easily respond to it.

It is better to come up with a nickname in advance, as the nursery will ask what name to enter in the passport. Many breeders, according to the old custom, expect that the name will reflect the data from the pedigree.

Names for boys and girls can be different, but can be completely consonant. It’s worth sitting down and discussing with your whole family how best name a siberian cat, for this it is worth using a list of the best nicknames.

Breed conclusions

Siberian cat got the right to wear a unique fur coat, which turned out to be an easy care. Kitty perfectly looks after her woolen coat herself. Another advantage of the breed is a high rate of health, subject to good care by the owner.

In a family, a cat quickly becomes a friend to every household: plays with children, gets along with other pets, unobtrusively offers its company to everyone. In response, she expects only affection and attention!

Siberian cat breed: visiting card

Siberian cats are large breeds. They have a strong muscular body, short, strong legs with a wide cushion of the foot, a long wide tail, slightly tapering towards the end. According to international classification, the breed belongs to semi-long-haired, but due to the dense undercoat, the Siberian cat looks incredibly fluffy, especially in winter, when the hair forms a collar on the neck and pants on its paws.

The breed standard WCF (World Cat Federation) defines the following basic parameters of Siberians.

  • Weight . 6-10 kg, cats are much larger than cats.
  • Height . Growth at the withers averages 30 cm in cats and up to 40 cm in cats. The parameters should correspond to the weight and age of the animal.

The protective instinct of representatives of this breed is highly developed.
  • Intelligence. These cats are smart, have a good memory and are prone to learning, but only by mutual agreement. In the literal sense of the word, a Siberian cat will not be trained, but she will be happy to learn the “Aport!” Command or just learn to bring small items to the owner.

History of the breed and interesting facts

The exact origin of the Siberian cat breed has not been established by scientists. It can be reliably argued that this is a natural breed formed by the evolutionary way, and not by breeding. Felinologists took up the Siberians only at the end of the 20th century, they chose and fixed the existing features on which the breed standard was built. According to international rules, Siberian cats cannot be mated with other breeds.

Initially, Siberians were not found in Siberia. The great-great-great-grandchildren of modern cats were brought there by pioneers who mastered this wild land in the 17th and 18th centuries. They took with them thoroughbred cats to protect supplies from rodents. Emigrant mutts, who became the ancestors of the Siberians, were not equipped for the new climate - they did not have either a suitable fur coat or strong musculature for hunting.

But evolution is a voluntary-forced thing. In harsh climates, their descendants soon acquired everything they needed. It is believed that Persian cats contributed to this, some of which ended up in Siberia with travelers along the Silk Road, and, possibly, some wild inhabitants of those places.

The attention of scientists, official recognition and world fame came to Siberian cats in the 80s of the last century. In 1989, the breed was officially registered in the USSR, and already in 1992 its representative became the world champion according to WCF.

The Siberian cat breed has no subspecies and varieties. But often there are mestizos or their descendants with similar features. The most common of them that grew up in a separate breed are Neva Masquerade. If the Siberians - this is one of the colors, then for the Neva - the breed standard, which breeders have achieved by crossing Siberian cats with Siamese and other breeds.

Often there are mixed breeds from Siberians with Scottish fold or with Persians. The offspring often turns out to be beautiful, but such animals are not purebred. They often inherit genetic diseases and other shortcomings of both breeds from their parents.

Content and Nutrition Requirements

Even before the kitten moves to you, you should take care of its comfort and buy essential goods at the pet store.

  • Lounger. Consider the considerable size of an adult Siberian cat, the bed should correspond to them.
  • Bowls for food and water. You can first take a kit for a kitten, but then you have to change it to a larger one. It is better to buy heavy dishes so that the pet does not turn it over.
  • Grooming tools. Comb with long teeth, comb brush, slicker, claw cutter.
  • Tray and filler. Consider where the cat's toilet will be located, the pet should always have access to this room.
  • Scratching post. You can make it yourself from a pipe or board wrapped in a jute rope.
  • Toys Siberian cats are often playful all their lives.
  • Collar and harness. With this breed you can and should walk. Siberian cat is curious and can sneak out behind another animal, birds. On the street, the animal is not lowered from the harness, and a collar with a tag where your contacts are indicated is best worn all the time.

Critically inspect your home for resistance to claws, itchy teeth, jumping and somersaults of a kitten, which will soon become difficult. Everything that can be gnawed, scratched, torn or broken, it is better to hide or rearrange it in more reliable places.

Siberians perfectly adapt to any conditions and do not require special efforts to care for themselves, although wool will have to devote a fair amount of time. The main procedures are described in the table.

Only Siberian haircuts are made to exhibition Siberians: they stick out the protruding hairs, cut the hair between the fingers and around the anus. If the cat does not participate in the exhibition, it is possible to make which model haircut, especially in hot weather.

Siberians are generally a healthy breed and do not require special approaches to the diet. You can feed a Siberian cat with ready-made feed or natural food, the main thing is that the diet is balanced and the portion size corresponds to the age, size and physical activity of the animal. Malnutrition is as bad as overeating and obesity.

Kittens are fed up to five times a day, after a year two times a day is enough. Up to three years, protein food should prevail, since the formation of the body is not yet over.

It is not recommended to feed Siberians only with dry food, as modern representatives of the breed are not very different from hunters of the past and need natural food. Dry food can be alternated with canned goods and natural products.

You may not be a Kuklachev, but you must teach a pet the rules of cat decency. The basic skills and ways to instill them are described in the table.

Table - Raising a Siberian cat

Use the toilet- Transfer the odor marker to the new lot,
- at the first sign of concern, put the pet in the tray
Use a clawScratch the claw specially with the claw of a kitten
Do not steal or beg- From the first day, train your pet to the feeding schedule,
- do not give snacks between meals,
- categorically forbid to climb the table and take food yourself
To walk and travel- Accustom yourself to the harness for walking gradually in the apartment,
- practice trips in the car, starting from short distances

It’s easy to accustom the Siberian to the tray, it is also believed that they learn to use the toilet faster than others. To do this, put the tray near the sanitary instrument and gradually raise it to the same level. A special cover is installed on the toilet itself. If a Siberian cat regularly walks on the street, then she can get used to doing her business only outside the house.

Some owners compare the character of a Siberian cat with a dog. Siberians are not cat-like loyal to a single owner, smart and able not only to memorize a lot of words, but also to distinguish between intonation and mood of a person. The basic difference from dog training is no negative motivation. Even the cat will take a strict voice as an insult, and at best it will simply lose interest. Any training for a Siberian cat is a game in which she is constantly praised.

Disease and treatment

The natural origin of the breed made the Siberians almost immune to disease. With proper care, timely prophylaxis of parasites and vaccination, which will protect against common infections, the Siberian cat lives over an average of 20 years. Kittens are first vaccinated at the age of two months. Revaccinate about three, and then after 11 months.

With age, Siberians due to malnutrition and connivance of the owners may have problems with the cardiovascular system and digestion. Some representatives of the breed have allergies to pollen of plants, some materials, dust or individual products.

Cost and where to buy

In Moscow, the price of a thoroughbred Siberian kitten is from 15 to 25 thousand rubles (data for February 2018). The final cost of a kitten depends on its show prospects, pedigree and the achievements of parents.

Of course, you will buy cheaper from the hands of a fluffy large kitten, but its origin, health and character may turn out to be far from Siberian. A real Siberian should be taken only in a Siberian breed nursery or from professional breeders.

Choosing a kitten

If you plan to participate in exhibitions with your pet, it is better to ask a specialist for help in choosing. Nobody can guarantee that a champion will grow out of a kitten, and given the slow maturation of the breed, it is even more difficult to predict the prospect of a baby than other cats. This feature should be considered if in the future you plan to start breeding these animals. The first estrus in a Siberian cat usually occurs about a year, but it is recommended to conduct the first mating only in the third. Pregnancy lasts a little over two months. Often, labor occurs between 64 and 72 days.

When choosing a Siberian cat kitten, you do not need to take the smallest or calmest kitten in the litter, this can be a sign of poor health. The kid should be clean, well-fed, energetic and without fear to get acquainted with a person. Approximately the color will be understandable almost immediately, but will be fully formed later, and finally consolidate by two years. If you are going to take a white kitten, make sure that everything is fine with hearing - congenital deafness is often found in white kittens, regardless of breed.

If your choice is based on a pet kitten recognized as unsuitable for breeding, or if you yourself are not ready to equip the personal life of the pet, it is better to deliberately deprive it of child-bearing function.

Nurseries that work with this breed are not difficult to find in almost every major city in Russia and neighboring countries. For instance:

Siberians are excellent companion cats for people with a restrained character and a busy schedule. These are not cats that can be squeezed around the clock. They will take as much attention from you as they see fit. They are affectionate, loyal, sociable, but require mutual respect from the owner. Perhaps reviews about the Siberian cat will help you decide if such a pet is right for you.

Owner reviews: “She doesn’t like to sit in her arms - prefers solitude”

Advantages: nobility, cleanliness, attachment to one master, quiet.

Disadvantages: wild, recognizes only the hostess.

My beauty is Smoke, noble, clever, quiet. In short, my favorite cat. They brought her very tiny 16 years ago. Her fur was long in her youth, now she has become bald. But the tail is very fluffy until then. In the ears, the hairs are so funny as in the squirrel and on the pads of the legs, too. It is she who plays in her years.

Paws are huge when grabbing something reveals such a big "claw". The kitty is very clean, but is not friends with the head (old). She became wild, runs to the doorbell and growls like a dog. Someone became suspicious.

It is seen that the smartest cat. Not noisy at all, behaves like a teacher. Six years ago they brought a purebred “bald” kitten. At first I didn’t accept, I shied away, but when this little miracle rushed at the dog, she suddenly became his best friend. I decided that mine was on the board. Now they are sleeping in an embrace. A funny case: on the pope under the tail of a white kitten a black spot and Haze for a year trying to wash it with his tongue. With a dog they have a temporary truce)

I will describe some of the difficulties of leaving and the difficult character of Lexus: For most of the day and night the cat naturally sleeps)). And when it does not sleep, it shkodit)): Let's start with a trivial-torn wallpaper and a ragged sofa. Cat with a character. For some reason, he periodically offends me, he will scratch me to the blood, he will suddenly jump, and sometimes he will bite his teeth in the teeth! Wretch! She doesn’t like to sit in her arms, prefers solitude.

Horrible coward. He’s afraid of everything: heights, other cats, animals, the street, veterinarians (He’s afraid of the heights most likely because he fell from the balcony of the 5th floor a couple of times, respectively, he’s afraid of the street because of this. I somehow bought a leash for cats, I thought Lexus was walking on the grass in the summer, you would have seen his huge eyes full of horror, so all the time he was crammed under the bench and sat. I don't walk anymore ((
It takes a lot of time to wash and comb it. So if you can, consult a cat grooming specialist. Less one headache, but the procedure is not cheap ((

From the positive: Undoubtedly its beauty and size, it is never boring. Clever and clever

Nastia Andyk, http://irecommend.ru/content/chuchelo-myauchilo-9-kg-problem-i-kak-s-nimi-borotsyaili-tapok-v-studiyu

This cat was presented to me when she was about six months old. Playful turned out to be a kitty. Everywhere I started to climb, to study everything. The coat is thick, long, fluffy tail. I got used to the tray quickly. If you want to save furniture, be sure to make her a claw point.

The coloring is also beautiful. He makes good contact with strangers, his character is playful and kind. Sometimes it catches mice, because we live in a house. Eats almost everything, if not pampered. Preference is given to dry food and fish.

When two more cats were brought in, of another breed, they got along quickly. They became friends and now there is one clatter in the house, when everyone starts to run after each other. When the cat became an adult, she began to go to the toilet on the street. Usually she goes to the door and starts jumping on the door handle, that is, she needs to go up and release it.
The cat is smart, the most for the Russian climate.
